Police: Man who fatally shot girlfriend’s children had sex assault, larceny convictions

Posted: Updated:

Police are asking how the man suspected in a double murder-suicide in Watertown was able to acquire a gun.

Police say Paul Ferguson, a convicted felon, shot and killed his girlfriend's children, 16-year old Sterling and 15-year old Della Jette Tuesday night at their home on Litchfield Road. He then turned the gun on himself.

Ferguson had previous convictions of sexual assault and larceny and therefore is not allowed to possess or use a gun.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology results to see if Ferguson was impaired at the time of the incident.
