The arrest warrants for Fotis Dulos, his girlfriend Michelle Troconis, and Fotis' friend and attorney Kent Mawhinney provide details not only on how authorities say Jennifer Dulos was killed, but also a possible motive.
On May 24, the affidavits say Fotis Dulos came to New Canaan lying in wait for Jennifer Dulos. Police believe Fotis Dulos then attacked his estranged wife in her garage and used zip ties to restrain her while she was still alive.
On that day, surveillance footage on Weed Street in New Canaan showed an individual wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark clothes riding a bicycle consistent with Fotis Dulos' bike toward Jennifer Dulos’ residence. That's a little over a mile.
According to the warrants, at some point between Jennifer Dulos’ arrival home at 8:05 a.m. and 10:25 a.m., "[Fotis] Dulos packages Jennifer using plastic zip ties and places her inside her own 2017 Chevrolet Suburban.  Dulos cleans the garage using supplies he finds in the garage and paper towels from the kitchen."
A short time later, Lauren Almeida, Jennifer Dulos' nanny, noticed there were only two rolls of paper towels left when she had just replaced a dozen.
A week later, Fotis Dulos and Troconis went to a barbecue at Dana Hinman’s home in Avon. That’s when the story came out about police going through trash bags in Hartford related to the case. Hinman, a friend of Fotis Dulos and Troconis, wrote, “Fotis watched the news story and eventually looked up at Michelle and sort of locked eyes with her for a second."

The warrants mention the probable motive in this case – a $2 million trust fund for the Dulos children.
"In the event of Jennifer's disappearance, and in the subsequent event that [Fotis] Dulos gained custody of the children, Dulos would have expected some level of access to the children's trust funds," the warrant reads.
In the new arrest warrants released Tuesday, police also revealed allegations that Mawhinney's cellphone pinged a tower May 31 near the Windsor Rod & Gun Club, where hunters had found a hole dug into the ground May 18.
The hunters said that the hole was big enough for a human body, and that inside the hole was a tarp and unopened bags of lime, which officials say can be used to cover the smell of dead bodies. The hole was found covered up in June. Police later dug up the site but did not find anything.
AP Wires Services were used in this report.
