A 112-year-old woman from Shelton is believed to be the third-oldest person living in Connecticut.
Agnes Lowe was born in October 1907 when Teddy Roosevelt was president. Lowe's parents both died when she was very young and living in Collinsville.  At 9 years old, she had to go to work.

“She got paid $5 a week, but the people who took her in charged her $5 a week,” says her granddaughter. “She was used to looking out her living room window and seeing horse and buggies go by.”

Lowe worked at Remington Arms in Bridgeport and lived through two world wars. Her granddaughter Kathy says Lowe was told she had cancer at 44 and that she had six months left to live
When News 12 asked her the secret to a long life, she said, “If I knew it, I would try to sell it maybe get some money for it."

Lowe hopes to join the world supercentenarian rankings – that includes anyone who has lived to be 110 years or older.
