The Connecticut chapter of the Service Employees International Union says two McDonald's restaurants along I-95 failed to sanitize after workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

32BJ of the Service Employees International Union claims that restaurants at the northbound service areas in Milford and Darien remain open and without disinfecting properly after workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

The union claims the actions threaten the health of other workers as well as of first responders, truck drivers, and the public who use the service plazas during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Union members also organized a caravan protest to drive through parking lots at the northbound service plaza locations in Milford and Darien Tuesday.

The union says McDonald’s stores at the Milford and Darien service plazas have sent home workers who were suffering with COVID-19 symptoms.

The workers later tested positive for the coronavirus, and workers reported that at least one worker at Darien and one at Milford are hospitalized.

The union claims neither store has closed or disinfected their work areas.
