Transportation companies in Connecticut are starting to see hope after being hit hard by the pandemic.
Ethan Book has been running New England Limousine Service of Fairfield for more than three decades. He says when the airline industry grounded, his business dropped off dramatically.
"It has essentially come to a stop," Book says. "Not just for me but for other limo operators in the area."
He says his business was doing 30% better than it was last year in the same time period, but saw a drastic decline in early April.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal says the $50 billion bailout to the airline industry will hopefully trickle throughout the economy.
"That ripple effect is so important because it will enable limo companies like this one to be successful," Blumenthal says.
Book says it will be crucial for livery services to keep their vehicles sanitized and enforce social distancing during the reopening process.
