Hundreds of Stamford residents came together for a peaceful march to honor George Floyd.
Organizers say the event was held for Floyd and all black men and women who were killed by police.
Flocks of people marched on Washington Boulevard and chanted "No justice, no peace" and "I can't breathe" down Bedford Street.
Natalie Rodriguez says she would only join if the rally remained peaceful.
"Their lives are something to fight for and the unjust things going on in the country is really not fair," Rodriguez says.
The group ended up at police headquarters to meet law enforcement. They all knelt in honor of Floyd's memory.
The city's mayor says he was proud that protesters and police banded together.
