Police in Fairfield are looking for a Jeep driver who fatally struck a woman on the Fourth of July and left the scene.

Police in Fairfield are looking for a Jeep driver who fatally struck a woman on the Fourth of July and left the scene.
It happened between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m. Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed in the area of 2000 Redding Road.
The vehicle is described as a green Jeep Wrangler that had its top off and doors on, with a large American flag flying from the rear of the vehicle. It was last seen traveling north on Redding Road at a high rate of speed.
 
Police say the vehicle has damage on the front right.
The deceased pedestrian has been identified as 32-year-old Marileidy Morel Araujo, from Pennsylvania. She was visiting family in the area, officials say.
