Eversource says it has more than 2,100 crews working to repair widespread damage and restore power to Connecticut communities.

The company says it is operating from six mobile response centers. One of those centers is at the I-84 Welcome Center in Danbury.

Once out of state crews arrive at the centers, they collect information and materials and begin working.

Despite criticism due to the delay in getting power back on, Eversource says it was prepared.

"We were conducting company-wide conference calls well before the impact," says Eversource Emergency Preparedness Manager Dean Desautels. "We actually started last week. One of hte challenges is always getting the right resources pre-located, but we continue to asset all throughout the weekend as the track changed and the intensity changed to make sure we were prepared when the impact occurred."

The company says crews come from as far as the Midwest and Canada to help restore power. It says it is working to secure even more resources.
