UConn students will begin to move back onto campus this weekend. 

Officials say the process will look different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

About 6,000 students will be moving in over the next few days, both on the Stamford campus and at the main campus in Storrs.

UConn will have a hybrid learning approach, and there will be a combination of both in-person and online classes.

Students will take a COVID-19 test on August 18, and are given specific move-in times to limit the amount of people in the dorms at a time.

In Storrs students are tested for COVID-19 before receiving their room keys. 

Officials say around 250 students will move into the downtown Stamford residence hall over the course of the next few days.

The number over students is down from the 500 who normally dorm at the location. 

Only one person is allowed in with each student to help them unpack, school officials say.

Masks and social distancing are required.

Students and their roommates are being asked to limit contact with other groups for the first 14 days on campus.

The university says classes will transition to online only after Nov. 21.
