As colleges across the U.S. deal with the coronavirus pandemic, the University of Connecticut says four on-campus students and three commuters have tested positive for COVID-19.

The infection rate still remains low - about one-tenth of 1%, but some parents and students say they fear those numbers will skyrocket unless better testing procedures are put in place.

There are around 250 people living on campus this year. A dorm on the campus is being kept empty in case students test positive for COVID-19.

Students started moving into two other buildings Friday. Testing is scheduled for Tuesday, but some people say they feel it should've have happened sooner.

Some students say they worry about sharing a room.

Officials tell News 12 they felt that this plan was the most practical for this campus, and that they expect a quick turnaround on the results.

Students say they're doing their best to social distance, and instead of meeting face-to-face they are using social media.

They are being asked to quarantine for two weeks, as classes start Aug. 31.

Officials say they expect the test results to come back very quickly.
