A Stratford artist is combining her love for nature with her passion for art to create a social media scavenger hunt.

Nicolette Pilla says she's creating "happy stones" in her home art studio and then hiding them.

She says she finds the stones at beaches and along hiking trails, then brings them home to paint colorful designs and hides them at places like Walnut Beach, the Seawall and Long Brook Park.

Pilla says she's painted more than 300 rocks and dozens of people have reached out to her on social media to tell her they found her happy stones.

She says she wants to start placing happy stones in area hospitals for nurses and health care workers.

She'll even make a custom stone with any kind of design for a few dollars.
