More details have been released about the Stratford man who was killed in a wrong-way crash on Route 8 in Shelton.

Friends say 30-year-old Fernando Moreno-Rivas was a U.S. Army Medic and the father of a young girl.

Police say he was killed early yesterday morning near exit 13 in Shelton. They say another car being driven by a Seymour woman was heading northbound on the wrong side of the highway when she crashed head on into Moreno-Rivas.

Police have identified the other driver, who was also killed, as 29-year-old Kelly Wootten.

They say it's not yet clear why she was driving on the wrong side of the highway.
