The Stratford Police Department is determined not to let the pandemic get in the way of spreading some holiday cheer this season.
On Tuesday, officers loaded up some 350 gifts to hand out to families in need throughout town.
Gifts included everything from toys to gift cards for groceries and necessities.
Stratford Police Department Spokeswoman Erin McLaughlin said they've noticed a big jump in requests this year.
"For us, it’s such a way for us to connect with our community and I can't really speak for the officers, but I know that there's no way you can't enjoy it," McLaughlin said.
The department received a grant and private donations to help cover the costs.
