Racial tensions continue to mount in Stratford three days before a scheduled rally against police brutality.
Residents say they awoke Wednesday to a disturbing message on their steps and in their doorways. A folded piece of paper wrapped in a sandwich bag with a rock inside of it informed them that several white supremacy groups are planning a counter demonstration Saturday. One flier depicted two white police officers arresting a minority at gunpoint.
Stratford Mayor James Miron says the town?s police department is aware of and prepared for the counter-rally. He says he is hoping for a peaceful demonstration, but has notified neighboring police departments about assisting with security.
