Members of the Jewish community gathered last night in Stratford to celebrate the fifth night of Hanukkah.
Mayor Laura Hoydick was joined by Rabbi Joseph Stock, of Mishkan Isreal Day Camp, to do the honors.
Stock said carrying on this tradition is a source of strength and comfort to the whole community.
"We're at a point where we could bring more light every single day into our lives and the lives of those around us and illuminate the world with goodness and kindness," Stock said.
The event was also streaming on the town's Facebook page for anyone who wanted to watch from home.
