According to a recently published research abstract, sleeping in on the weekend could lower your risk for heart disease by up to 19%.
The research studied 91,000 people between ages 40 and 69.
It found the group that made up for their lost sleep on weekends were less likely to develop heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and stroke.
None of the findings were impacted by gender.
