Development Group Summit Hospitality has announced plans to convert a historic building into a tourist destination.
The group says it wants to convert McLevy Hall in Bridgeport into a concierge hotel and won an open bid to do so.
They say it would be called The Lincoln Inn and could fill a major vacancy created by the recent closure of the nearby Bridgeport Holiday Inn.
"And what we want as a council body is to attract them to come down to Bridgeport and also be able to be able to visit the various businesses and restaurants here in downtown Bridgeport," said Bridgeport City Council Member Jorge Cruz.
City officials say things are looking "very positive" for the multimillion-dollar proposal.
