Retailers braced for ?Super Saturday,? a shopping day that retailers say has historically rivaled Black Friday in discounts and sales.
With the faltering economy causing shoppers to buy less and spend less, many Connecticut residents say they have waited to shop for the holidays until the last days before Christmas in attempt to save money.
At Westfield Connecticut Post, managers said they expected close to 90,000 shoppers Saturday, which is a 10 percent increase compared to Black Friday.
In addition to discounts, many stores are lengthening store hours and adding staff to make shoppers? experiences easier and more pleasant. Westfield Connecticut Post will be open until 11 p.m. every night until Christmas Eve.
