Bridgeport police have released surveillance video from a fatal hit-and-run crash.
Officers say Evelyn Agyei was killed and her 11-year-old son was hurt when a white SUV hit their Subaru, driving them off the road and into a tree.
Police say the video shows Agyei driving on Boston Avenue Thursday morning. They say she may have been on her way to work, and was going to drop her son off at school.
In the video, she apparently loses control of her car after being repeatedly hit by the SUV. The suspect then takes off.
Police say both Aygei and her son were taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. News 12 Connecticut has learned that her son was released on Friday.
Neighbors say Aygei was a mother of three children, was very involved at her church and was a kind, friendly person.
Employees at a nearby business say they didn't know the victim personally but wanted to do something to show their support, so they started a memorial. People stopped by throughout the day on Friday to pay their respects.
Bridgeport police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call them.
There is no word yet on funeral arrangements.
