Survey: Many Americans saving stimulus checks rather than spending them

Only about a quarter of those surveyed say their checks are going toward spending.

More Americans are saving their stimulus checks, rather than spending them.
A survey by the federal reserve shows households intend to set aside about 42% of their stimulus payments for a rainy day. And 34% say they are using the money to pay down debt.
Only about a quarter of those surveyed say their checks are going toward spending.
The numbers of how much is being saved vs. spent from the latest round of checks is a change of about 5% from the first round.
About 25 million more payments are expected to have been delivered by the end of this week, including many for social security recipients.
