A Shelton man was arraigned today in a string of robberies across southwestern Connecticut. Authorities say Christopher French stole cash from a tanning salon and bakery in Fairfield, and may be responsible for similar crimes in Bridgeport and Stratford. They say French, who lives in Shelton, has an extensive criminal record. "Anytime somebody begins a robbery spree, the more success he gets, the more empowered he feels and the stronger the actions that he takes," says Fairfield Police Chief Gary McNamara. French is currently being held on $500,000 bond.
