(AP) - The former driver for slain Greenwich real estate developer Andrew Kissel has been recharged with murder two weeks before he faced trial for a conspiracy to commit murder charge.
Carlos Trujillo, 48, of Bridgeport, was arraigned on a murder charge in Superior Court in Stamford Thursday. The conspiracy charge was dismissed.
Trujillo now faces 60 years in prison if convicted.
The change in charges came two weeks after his co-defendant, Leonard Trujillo, 23, of Worcester, Mass., pleaded guilty to reduced charges of manslaughter and conspiracy to commit murder.
Prosecutors dropped the charge of murder in exchange for Leonard Trujillo's cooperation in his cousin Carlos' case.
Carlos Trujillo did not enter a plea.
