Police have released details Monday about a man they say robbed a Fairfield diner at gunpoint.

The incident occurred just after midnight Sunday morning at the Circle Diner on Post Road. Authorities say the suspect held up customers and employees with a handgun. They say he demanded money and ordered those inside the diner to move into the kitchen before fleeing.

Police say the suspect is a man in his late 30s or early 40s with salt-and-pepper colored hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark-colored windbreaker and baseball cap.

"At some point [the suspect] cocked the hammer and that's when my night manager got a little nervous because he was pointing it at the customer,? says Gus Tsilfives, the owner of the diner. ?He said ?Here's the money, don't do anything foolish. No one is trying to be a hero or anything.? ?

No one was injured in the incident. Police received surveillance video from the diner and are analyzing it.
