Suspects apprehended in jewelry store heist

Stamford police apprehended two suspects about 100 feet away from the scene of a Friday morning jewelry store robbery.Police say a man walked into Marco Jewelry at 16 Sixth St. a little after 10:30 a.m.

Stamford police apprehended two suspects about 100 feet away from the scene of a Friday morning jewelry store robbery.Police say a man walked into Marco Jewelry at 16 Sixth St. a little after 10:30 a.m. and asked to look at some jewelry. The suspect then allegedly grabbed a ring and quickly took off. A few store employees chased the man south on Summer Street, where he ran into a condo complex and jumped into a waiting getaway car. Police in the area say they spotted the suspects circling the block and were able to stop the vehicle. The two suspects then exited the vehicle and attempted to escape, but police were able to chase them down and apprehend them.
