Students at Cider Mill Elementary School in Wilton had the chance to thank local veterans this morning.
The school celebrated "Take a Veteran to School Day" – a program they've been running for over 20 years.
Some of the children brought veterans to school – whether it was a family member, friend or neighbor.
"We think it's really important…to celebrate the veterans that are here," said fifth-grade teacher Kim Romero.
Optimum, the sister company of News 12, partnered with the History Channel for the event.
