State police say a 19-year-old is facing charges in connection to a deadly accident involving two UConn students, one of which was from southwestern Connecticut.
Police say Hannah Schmidt of Hebron turned herself in Saturday. Schmidt was wanted for negligent homicide involving a motor vehicle and a stop sign violation.
Police say her car collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 66 in Columbia back in September.
Both passengers, Ryan Meegan from Ridgefield and Alana Ferrente from South Windsor, died in the crash.
