Officials with the MTA are investigating after a Greenwich High School student was fatally struck by a Metro-North train Sunday morning at the Cos Cob Station.
The 17-year-old junior would have been taking his last final exam this week.
The school sent out an email Sunday saying there's been an untimely death of one of its students, and if any other student felt they were uncomfortable to take their finals to let their guidance counselors know.
The accident happened just after midnight Sunday.
According to officials, the junior was pronounced dead at the scene after a New Haven-bound train hit him.
The school is not releasing the student's name at this time. Administrators brought grief counselors in for the day.
It's unclear why he was on the train tracks.
