News 12 is taking a look at the cost of costumes this Halloween.
Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "overall we are expected to spend some $11.6 billion on Halloween just this holiday season and $3.8 billion of that, just for costumes. So every year we like to dress up, it is getting a little bit more expensive."
Silver says costumes can range anywhere from $20 to about $200 in cost depending on how creative you want to get.
News 12's Kristie Reeter wanted to get creative with her budget in finding costumes for her two girls.
She went out shopping in stores to get an idea of what is out there but did her price comparison shopping online.
Her daughters decided to be princesses. For her older daughter she saw that Target was having a 20% off costume sale. That saved her $7 on her older daughter's costume.
For her younger daughter she went shopping in her house and found a princess gown already on hand, costing $0! Her total spent on Halloween costumes, $28.
