The Westport Historical Society opened a new exhibit Tuesday titled, “The History of Westport in 100 Objects."
Organizers say the yearlong exhibit tells the history of the town through rare items such as an Arrowhead from the 1600s and a vintage collection of Cupie Dolls. They say new items will go on display every two weeks, giving visitors a reason to come back.
"This exhibit is a popular idea. A couple other museums pioneered this idea, but they've done really giant exhibits, where all 100 are displayed at the same time,” says Nicole Carpenter, of the Westport Historical Society. “We wanted to do something that people can continue to come in and see over and over again and be completely surprised every time that they came in."
The exhibit runs through April 2019.
