A rainy Sunday did not keep thousands of people from filling the streets of Bridgeport Sunday for the annual Barnum Festival Great Street Parade.
The parade kicked off at the corner of North and Clinton avenues. It paid tribute to first responders and veterans.
Robert Kennedy, a veteran and Bridgeport resident, served as the parade's grand marshal.
The parade ended with a surprise for more than two dozen children, who received new bikes and helmets as part of the "Bikes for Kids" program.
