About 4,000 runners hit the streets Sunday in the third New York Road Runners Bronx Half-Marathon.
Participants started near Lehman College, ran down the Grand Concourse and Mosholu Parkway in the 13.1-mile course.
Runners crossed the Goulden Avenue finish line to cheering crowds."It was exciting," said Jorge Fernandez, who was among the first to complete the race. "A little cold, but I performed very well and I am very happy."
Dozens of volunteers spent hours setting up thousands of cups filled with water to keep the runners hydrated.
