If you were singing, "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas," hopefully a white Christmas Eve was enough for those waking up Tuesday morning.
Northern parts of Connecticut saw snowflakes fall first.
The snow blanketed the rest of the Nutmeg State, but those traveling in time for the holidays were surprised.
"I don't know, I didn't look at the weather. I didn't plan accordingly, not the way I do things. I tried to leave at 5 in the morning but woke up late at 6 o'clock, but here we are," said one person traveling from Massachusetts to New Jersey.
Another pair, on their way to New Hampshire from New Jersey, stopped at the Merritt Parkway service stop by exit 37 for a quick bite to eat.
"This is the quietest I've ever seen the Merritt," said the New Hampshire-bound passenger. "We thought it might be an hour, but we thought we'd drive through it. It's actually more than we thought."
Snow stopped by midmorning, with clouds making way for sunshine.
