Tornado watch, severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Connecticut

A tornado watch has been issued for Litchfield County until 10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tornado watch, severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Connecticut
A tornado watch has been issued for Litchfield County until 10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for central Fairfield County until 9:15 p.m., and part of Litchfield County through 9 p.m.

Two storm systems could hit the area, with the first through 7 p.m. and the second after 9 p.m.

The storms could bring damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours. A cold front will cross the area late Friday night.

Temperatures will stay mild overnight in the 50s to near 60. Saturday will see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with a high of 73. Sunday will be a bit cooler, with a high of 62.
