11h agoThe Town Players of New Canaan will present A Christmas Story on Friday, Dec. 1 through Dec. 17.
Local children will join local actors in a nostalgic classic play.
The beloved American tale familiar to generations is a holiday family film favorite.
Director Nova Hall says the movie is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
"There are millions of people around this country who have thought of this movie as being the definitive kind of Christmas movie. People should come out to have some joy and be part of the arts," said Hall.
Hall said she will be making her directorial debut.
A Christmas Story runs weekends starting on Dec. 1 at the Powerhouse theater.
