A toy drive was held in the Bronx to give ill children Christmas presents and to honor a mother who lost her son last year.
Judy Fabian lost her son in a fire last year.
Eight of her friends held a toy drive in her son's memory.
The original idea was to give the toys to children in hospitals who are suffering from severe burn trauma, but giving them the toys was deemed hazardous.
Instead, the group is giving the toys to inpatient children at Lincoln Hospital and the emergency room.
Fabian's friends will take the toys to Lincoln Hospital next week, where Santa will hand-deliver them from the top of a fire truck.
