A routine traffic stop led to the arrests of two people in a major counterfeit credit card ring out of Bridgeport, according to police.
Officers pulled over 32-year-old Michael Duque and 28-year-old Heather Perdue on East Washington Avenue around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the couple would pull credit card information off stolen cards and then put that info onto counterfeit cards.
The couple admitted to working with a ringleader based out of New York, according to investigators.
Police suspect that Duque and Perdue may have also been part of a check fraud ring under investigation. Duque and Perdue are being held on a $100,000 bond.
Police are now working with the FBI and Secret Service to investigate the operation.
