Travel agent recommends getting travel insurance, not traveling if sick

Many people are wondering if they should postpone or cancel their upcoming trips amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Many people are wondering if they should postpone or cancel their upcoming trips amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Nancy Yale at Cruise and World Travel in Fairfield says those who are choosing to travel should be smart and get travel insurance.
Yale says airlines, hotels and cruise ships are becoming more flexible about changing itineraries. And she's optimistic that things will change for the better.
The World Health Organization says there are more cases of the flu than COVID-19. WHO says the fatality rate of the virus is just over 3% and almost all of those had a pre-existing condition.

Dr. Michael Parry is the chair of infectious diseases at Stamford Health Medical Group. He says in severe cases, coronavirus can cause pneumonia and sometimes death.
Parry says over the last few weeks, he has seen a number of patients who have traveled who now have a cough and fever but they did not have the coronavirus.
He recommends getting a flu shot, washing hands and not traveling if you are sick.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends not traveling to China, Iran, Italy and South Korea.
