No matter where you’re headed for the holiday, you won’t be alone.
After record travel numbers on Memorial Day and Fourth of July this year, AAA Northeast says it expects more of the same for Labor Day weekend.
“Anytime there’s a holiday, we’re expecting it to be extra busy on the roads, with the most congestion expected to be in the afternoon and into the evening hours," says spokesperson Lauren Fabrizi.
Travelers like Bonnie Wilde hit the road early on Thursday.
“Going to Lady Gaga the night before makes it a difficult drive," Wilde says, "so we got some big, large coffees from Dunkin Donuts to make it there."
If you’re driving, AAA says the best time to travel is before noon on Friday and between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Traffic is pretty much guaranteed, so drivers are encouraged to take things slow.
“You’re going to get there no matter what, don’t stress it," Bliss Bricker says. "It’s not that deep."
