Friends and family in Trumbull are mourning the loss of a popular and well-known hockey coach.
Eddy LeMaire, the head coach of the St. Joseph High School boys hockey team, died suddenly over the weekend. Friends say he died of a heart attack while out with friends.
LeMaire was 53.
He was seen at rinks all over the area. Under Marty Crouse, he was originally an assistant coach, then later became head coach.
"I just feel numb. I feel numb today about it," said Crouse, "and a lot of people have been reaching out to me ‘cause they knew how much Eddy meant to me, and that's comforting to know that he had that much influence on so many people."
St. Joseph's is working on a service to honor LeMaire.
