Trumbull residents were given the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of their local volunteer fire company.

The Sunday event was held at Indian Ledge Park in Trumbull.

Fire trucks, service trucks and fire equipment were on full display alongside food trucks and music.

Richard Gregory, the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company Co. #1 fire chief, expressed excitement for the community event.

“We love to have the community come out and look at our fire trucks, look at all sorts of other trucks that are here today. It just brings the community together," Gregory said. "They love to come out, it’s a great event. It’s our second annual event, and hopefully we do this on an annual basis and we have more and more people come out.”

Fire officials say they are constantly looking for new volunteers, you can find that information here.
