A house went up in flames on Friday in Norwalk, leaving four people displaced.

Crews from the Norwalk Fire Department and Eversource were called to Arbor Drive just after 1 p.m. to fight the fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames within 27 minutes, according to Norwalk fire officials.

Officials added that residents were seen attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose while other occupants evacuated the building.

Fire officials determined that the fire originated on the porch and extended up the vinyl siding and into the soffit and roof structure.

Norwalk officials stated that a total of 37 firefighters responded to the fire, including four engine companies, two ladder companies, one rescue company, and command and support staff.

The American Red Cross is now aiding the four occupants who were inside the home.

No injuries were reported, and the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
