The University of Bridgeport is taking steps to rid dorm rooms of bedbugs and to replace students' ruined clothing.
The university recently had more than 150 rooms fumigated and then took students' clothing to get cleaned. While many students said they didn't mind being kept out of their rooms for the fumigation, they did mind that their clothes were damaged during the cleaning. Others say they never got their clothing back.
"The university has given out a couple hundred dollars to everybody who needs clothing to go out and buy some," said Director of University Relations John Daley.
The school is also offering affected students free board for the rest of the summer.
