'Unsustainable misuse.' Overcrowding leads to ban on island access at Candlewood Lake

All islands on Candlewood Lake will be closed to public use starting Friday due to what officials call "unsustainable misuse and overcrowding."
The Candlewood Lake Authority says the ban will be enforced by lake patrol, state DEEP officials, and police departments from the five surrounding communities.
Violators will be removed and could face trespassing charges and fines.
