High wind conditions from Monday's storm led to lane closures on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge for much of the day.

The MTA briefly closed both the upper and lower levels to all traffic in both directions Monday afternoon.

The MTA reported around 5:30 p.m. that both levels had reopened. Empty tractor-trailers, tandem trailers, piggyback trailers and multiple trailers were still prohibited into the evening, however.

Video shared to social media earlier in the day appeared to show gusty winds sending material fluttering with traffic stopped on the bridge.
