Power provider Eversource Energy is aiming to go quite literally above and beyond to ensure its power lines across southwestern Connecticut are safe.
The utility checks power lines by taking to the air in its Eversource chopper. The company says its chopper flies over all of the lines owned by the company twice a year to make that vegetation is not harming the lines.
The energy provider says that checking form above makes the most sense. The red flags it looks during flights are damaged trees interfering with power lines.
