New details have emerged regarding the fatal motorcycle crash in Westport on Saturday. Authorities identified the victim as Frank Brown, of Waterbury.
According to Westport police, Brown lost control of his motorcycle after colliding with a car ahead of him. He subsequently veered into a median and collided with a concrete wall. Brown was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short while later.
The incident occurred on the northbound side between Exits 17 and 18, prompting a temporary highway shutdown. The car Brown initially hit carried five passengers, none of whom were injured.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
