Bridgeport police have released surveillance video depicting what they say is a violent carjacking that occurred on Wood Avenue and Olive Street.
The victim, who asked to not be identified, says he was standing outside his wife's gray Pontiac sedan when the encounter took place. He says the suspect reached for his waistline, as if to pull a gun, so he knocked the suspect to the ground and began running away. Police say the suspect then fired two shots at the victim and stole the Pontiac.
Investigators tell News 12 the victim claims the suspect asked him for money that he owed, but the victim did not owe the suspect any money.
Police say no one was hurt during the incident.
