The NYPD has released disturbing surveillance video of a man shot at close range and then beaten.
According to police, the gunman is seen shooting the victim several times before hitting him in the head with his gun. He then walks by him with a few other men following behind.
It all happened at around 1 a.m. Saturday inside Candy Deli Grocery on Webster Avenue in Claremont Village.
The 37-year-old victim is in critical condition at Lincoln Hospital. Neighbors did not disclose his identity, but says his nickname is "Pookie" and is the father of twin baby girls.
Authorities are hoping the video will help them find the man responsible. He's described as being black and in his 30s with braided hair. He was wearing a red Polo shirt, green baseball hat and jeans.
