Dozens of people attended a memorial Monday to honor the Bridgeport teen fatally shot on Christmas Eve.
Police say Luis Colon was an innocent bystander who was shot and killed by 23-year-old Michael Majors.
They say Colon was caught in the crossfire between rival drug dealers.
Colon's mother told News 12 that her 14-year-old son went to a store located at 1156 State St. to pick up some grocery items when the shooting broke out.
Since the shooting, the community has rallied to offer support for Colon's family and show their opposition to crime and shootings in the city.
Funeral arrangements are pending, as Colon's family is seeking donations from their community.
Community members told News 12 that they hope this tragic loss can be a catalyst for positive change as they head into the new year.
