Vigil held to remember man killed in hit-and-run
A candlelight vigil was held in Bridgeport Sunday for the 80-year-old killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday.
People who knew and loved David Hadden say he will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and caring heart that touched every person he met.
Reverend Herron Gaston of Summerfield United Methodist Church says his parishioners are brokenhearted after one of their own was killed.
As News 12 reported, Hadden was struck while crossing the street at the intersection of Boston and Mill Hill avenues around 4 p.m. Friday.
Police say 29-year-old Ayanna Woodward of Bridgeport was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
Reverend Gaston says the wake for Hadden will take place at Summerfield United Methodist Church one day this week.
